Happy 4th of July. What a fun day. We spent the day at my parent’s house. We had a cookout that included steak, bratwurst, hotdogs, homemade macaroni and cheese, corn on the cob, and steamed whole red potatoes. We also grilled peppers, onions, and zucchini. Can I say, Yum!!!!!! I bought the little red potatoes from an Amish family living down the street. The zucchini came out of our garden. I didn’t have time to make a dessert so I bought pistachio cupcakes, brownies, and macadamia nut cookies from Sam`s Club. My stepdad grilled the meat and some veggies while my mom and I cooked the rest.
Once it started to get dark out we had our own little display of fireworks. My stepdad lit the fireworks and we all enjoyed watching them. We had a lot of fireworks. As you can see. I tried to make a video several times and each time I would realize that I forgot to push the records button. I guess my mind was focused on just watching the fireworks. It is a good thing my sister was smart enough to know how to push the record button. I was able to take a few photos.
I bought lemons to make lemonade. I was really wanting to make lemonade, but I forgot. I remember reading Little House on the Prairie when I was younger and Laura tried Lemonade for the first time on Independence Day. I don’t know why I remember that part of the book, but I remember being so excited that she tried the lemonade. I guess now I will have to make some lemonade. We really enjoyed our day.
